DONETSK, September 15 (RIA Novosti) – The next prisoner exchange between the Kiev government and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) will take place in about three days, DPR Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko said Monday.

“I think that the next prisoner swap will be held in about three days,” he said.

The first anticipated prisoner swap between Ukrainian security forces and militia in the breakaway republic of Donetsk took place in eastern Ukraine on Sunday.

The Ukrainian side handed over all 73 militia hostages as was agreed by Kiev and DPR authorities, the head of DPR Committee on Prisoners Exchange told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

The swap followed the groundbreaking ceasefire agreement in Belarus' capital Minsk on September 5 where Kiev, Moscow and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) agreed to exchange all prisoners and open humanitarian corridors.

Negotiators were building on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's peace plan for resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine, as well as on Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposals.
