DONETSK, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - A team of observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), who has been monitoring the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, came under fire near the city of Donetsk, an OSCE representative told RIA Novosti late on Sunday.

“A group of five [OSCE observers] got in the way of gunfire in the Kirovsky District. No one was hurt, but the car was damaged,” the source said.

The firefight comes amid a groundbreaking ceasefire agreement, which was reached on September 5 in Belarus' capital Minsk. It was attended by representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE.

Ukraine has been engulfed in violent internal conflict since mid-April, when Kiev launched a military operation against independence supporters in the southeastern regions. According to United Nations' estimates, some 3,000 people have been killed and more than 6,000 wounded since the start of the offensive.
