MOSCOW, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - UN Security Council is considering a draft resolution concerning the crash of a Malaysian passenger plane in eastern Ukraine and the voting can take place on Monday, Reuters reported Sunday, quoting a UN source.

"All states and other actors in the region refrain from acts of violence directed against civilian aircraft,” demanded the draft resolution, as quoted by Reuters.

It was reported earlier that Australia’s UN Deputy Permanent Representative Philippa King called on the UN Security Council to agree on a resolution in connection with the crash. The document needs to provide access to the crash site and organize an independent international inquiry.

The Malaysia Airlines plane with 298 people on board including 85 children and 15 crew members crashed Thursday near the town of Torez in Ukraine’s Donetsk Region. The authorities in Kiev say the plane had been shot down by independence supporters who in their turn insist they do not have the required technology to shoot a target flying this high.

The Ukrainian government invited officials from Malaysia, the Netherlands, the European Commission, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Eurocontrol and NTSB to take part in the investigation into the causes of the plane crash. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and the European Police Office (Europol) will also send their representatives to the site of the accident.
