TOKYO, July 11 (RIA Novosti) – Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida will make an official visit to Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan from July 15 to 18, the diplomat announced at a press conference in Tokyo on Friday.

“During a visit to Ukraine I want to demonstrate Japan’s active position as a G7 member in the issue of speedy resolution of [the] Ukrainian crisis,” Kishida said.

Earlier in June the Japanese Foreign Ministry stated that Kishida would meet with his Ukrainian counterpart to speak about the further development of bilateral relations between the countries. Apart from that, the Japanese minister plans to confirm his government’s decision to loan Ukraine $1.5 billion. It is possible that during his visit Kishida will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Kishida also said that while in Kyrgyzstan he will take part in the fifth summit of foreign ministers of the “Central Asia plus Japan” group, where issues surrounding the stability and development of Central Asia are planned to be discussed. In addition, bilateral talks between foreign ministers of participating states will be held.
