MOSCOW, December 10 (RIA Novosti) - A 5.6 magnitude earthquake was registered off the southern coast of Philippines on Monday morning, no casualties or destruction were reported, the US Geological Survey said on its Website.
The earthquake struck at 5:45 a.m. local time (21:45 GMT Sunday), with its epicenter 26 km (16 miles) to the south of the city of Mati, located on the Mindanao island, and at a depth of 56 km (35 miles).
The island of Mindanao is recovering from the disastrous typhoon Pablo (Bopha) that swept across Philippines last week.
The typhoon affected some five million people across the country, leaving over 420 people dead and completely destroying over 3,000 houses.
