At least 15 Iraqi soldiers were killed and four others injured after gunmen attacked a military base in Salah Din province on Monday morning. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

More than 18 people were killed and dozens injured when a car bomb went off in the city of Taji, north of Baghdad.

In the northern oil town of Kirkuk, five people were killed, including three civilians, and 19 people were injured in four synchronized car bomb attacks.

At least 16 people were killed by car bombs in Baghdad, near an interior ministry office that issues government ID cards.

In the city of Touz Khurmato, 140 km north of Baghdad, a car bomb at a local market killed at least one person and wounded three.

Monday's attacks come a day after a spate of bombings across the country killed at least 20 people and wounded 88 others in the worst violence to hit the country in about three weeks, Al Jazeera said.
