MOSCOW, May 28 (RIA Novosti)
Iranian security forces have arrested a man on suspicion of spying for an Arab state's intelligence agency, the Fars news agency reported on Monday.
"A person with a known identity who is linked with the spy service of an Arab state has been arrested by the Sabzevar (city) Corps," the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement released on Sunday.
The alleged spy was seized as he penetrated the landing pad of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's helicopter during his visit to the city earlier this month.
"During interrogations, the arrested individual has confessed to his links with the citizens of an Arab country and the transfer of sensitive information to them," the IRGC said.
Iran has arrested more than 40 U.S. and Israeli spies over the past year, Fars added. Last month, the nation's Intelligence Ministry said it had disbanded what it described as a large Israeli terror network, after months of operations.

Some people are trying to make the reality in Russia at least a bit more humane. The amnesty should apply not only to persons involved in high-profile cases, but also to individuals who are not as well-known. It is better to set free at least some of the individuals who deserve to be released than no one at all.
