Incumbent Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko gained 79.67% of the vote in Sunday's presidential election after 100% of the ballots have been counted.

Incumbent Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko gained 79.67% of the vote in Sunday's presidential election after 100% of the ballots have been counted, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said.

CEC head Lidiya Yermoshina said the voter turnout was 90.66%.

Lukashenko, dubbed by the United States "Europe's last dictator" for a clampdown on opposition and dissent, has ruled the country since 1994. At the previous election in 2006, he won 83% of the vote.
