A donkey that was sent parasailing over the Azov Sea last month by a group of Russian entrepreneurs has now been brought to the Kremlin’s Putilkovo stables, outside Moscow, for recovery. According to local veterinarians, the animal is exhausted and in bad shape.
The donkey, Anapka, receives regular medical checkups at Putilkovo. She is still suffering from the after effects of the stressful incident, and it will take her at least two weeks to recuperate, the doctors say. They have her following a special regimen, with high-quality food and drinking water, as well as frequent showers and sunbaths.
The British tabloid The Sun has decided to purchase the animal. The Sun’s Anna Shlyakhtenko, in whose name the custody documents will be issued, says that Anapka will be moved to the UK when the papers are ready.
But if the doctors say that a flight may be dangerous for the donkey’s health, Anapka will remain in Russia.
