The dress rehearsal of the parade dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in Moscow on Thursday. More than 150 items of military hardware, including the Topol-M missile system, took to the Moscow streets.
About one thousand of foreign servicemen from Britain, France, the United States and Poland marched across Red Square in columns. They included the legendary French air squadron Normandie-Niemen, a U.S. Army unit, the elite Royal Regiment of Wales and a Polish Honor Guard company.
Many streets in downtown Moscow were closed from 5 a.m. due to the Victory Parade’s dress rehearsal. This caused long traffic jams in the Russian capital.
