One of the most notorious terrorist leaders, Abu Khalid, has been killed in a special law enforcement operation in Chechnya, Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov told reporters. In total six terrorists were killed in the operation. Two of them have now been identified.
Another 20 have been surrounded near Pervomaiskoye. The operation is being lead by Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, who is at the scene. According to Kadyrov, Abu Khalid’s death was a “great success,” because he was the brain behind many recent terrorist attacks. Three police officers died during the clash, and a further three were wounded.
The operation continues.
