Ex-Carolina Hurricanes forward Jakub Petruzalek scored two goals and an assist as KHL strugglers Amur Khabarovsk thrashed Metallurg Novokuznetsk 5-1 on Wednesday.

MOSCOW, November 21 (R-Sport) - Ex-Carolina Hurricanes forward Jakub Petruzalek scored two goals and an assist as KHL strugglers Amur Khabarovsk thrashed Metallurg Novokuznetsk 5-1 on Wednesday.

Amur snapped a six-game losing streak with the win but remain second from last in the Eastern Conference, with Novokuznetsk sixth in the same conference.

Amur opened the scoring early in the second period through Juha-Pekka Hytonen before Dmitry Kagarlitsky equalized for Novokuznetsk.

Amur then ran riot as Petruzalek scored two and Perttu Lindgren and Dmitry Lugin added goals of their own, while Dmitry Tarasov finished with three assists.

There are 10 more matches later Wednesday, with the stars of CSKA Moscow, SKA St. Petersburg and Metallurg Magnitogorsk all in action.
