Zenit St. Petersburg's €40 million signing Hulk has been sidelined for up to two weeks after hurting his thigh muscle, the Russian champions said Sunday.
The Brazilian will miss Tuesday's Champions League group stage game against Anderlecht. Zenit won the home leg 1-0 last month.
Hulk was substituted by Vladimir Bystrov in the 41st minute of Friday’s match against FC Rostov, which Luciano Spalletti’s men won 2-1.
It was revealed that Hulk over-extended his thigh muscle in the encounter.
Hulk has played 11 games for Zenit in all competitions since joining from FC Porto in September and scored three goals.
