MOSCOW, October 31 (RIA Novosti)
Denver Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov wants a new contract with the Denver Nuggets, he has told R-Sport.
Mozgov’s current three-year, $10 million deal expires at the end of the season, and Mozgov admitted the NBA’s unpredictable business climate could thwart hopes of a contract extension at Denver.
“Of course I’d like to extend my contract,” Mozgov said Tuesday.
“But time will tell and I don’t want to guess. A huge amount can happen in a season. Remember that it’s the NBA - they can give me away, sell me wherever they like.”
“So I’m still calm. I feel like securing my place and signing a good contract.”
Mozgov said he was not setting any extra goals for the new season and warned of the extra pressure on Denver after the team surprised many by reaching last season’s playoffs and leading the league on points per game in the regular season.
“So far I’m setting myself a personal goal not to get injured and to play to my strengths, nothing special,” he said.
“But the team has big targets this season. If no-one expected anything from us last year, then this time they expect a result.”
The Nuggets have lost all three of their preseason games so far, most recently a 106-94 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, with Mozgov making just seven points in the three games.
The Russian said he was not yet playing at his best.
“I’m very well prepared physically, but I can’t say I’ve completely got into my game form,” he said.
“To be honest, I’m not yet in the best condition from a game perspective, but the season’s long so I’m not rushing to get upset, everything will be OK.”
Mozgov moved to the NBA in 2010 with the New York Knicks and has since averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 89 regular-season games.

We have witnessed the total defeat of western Ukraine, Western nationalists and the West in general, which made the unfortunate decision to support the anti-government activity. They failed to realize that the collapse of Yanukovych means the collapse of Ukrainian unity. They set fire to their own home and planted a time bomb under Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
