MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti)
Russia coach Fabio Capello signed an “Andy Warhol-style” portrait of himself by a former footballer, the painter’s wife said Monday.
Former England coach Capello is renowned for his love of modern art, with a collection reportedly valued at around $15 million.
Capello's Pop Art portrait, painted by ex-Russia defender Dmitry Sennikov, is destined for a charity auction, Sennikov’s wife Anna said.
“Fabio is an amazing person. When he saw the picture, he said ‘Wow’,” Anna Sennikova said.
“Then he signed the portrait and said he’s happy to do a lot for charity,” she said, adding that his autograph “could significantly raise the price of the lot.”
Capello was with the Russia team in Moscow on Monday ahead of a World Cup qualifying fixture against Portugal on Friday.

Some people are trying to make the reality in Russia at least a bit more humane. The amnesty should apply not only to persons involved in high-profile cases, but also to individuals who are not as well-known. It is better to set free at least some of the individuals who deserve to be released than no one at all.
