ST. PETERSBURG, September 29 (RIA Novosti)
Lokomotiv Moscow scored a 1-1 draw at Zenit St. Petersburg on Saturday in an ill-tempered Russian Premier League match that saw both sides finish with 10 men.
Italian leftback Domenico Criscito put the hosts in front on 14 minutes, crashing a deflected shot home from the edge of the penalty area.
Lokomotiv equalized on 25 minutes, when Senegalese forward Dame N'Doye sent a precision lob over Vyacheslav Malafeev.
The draw sees Zenit remain fifth with 18 points, while Lokomotiv join Anzhi Makhachkala in second on 20 points.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men on 32 minutes when right back Roman Shishkin was sent off for a second yellow card in an apparent case of mistaken identity.
Vedran Corluka seemed to have fouled Hulk in a Zenit attack that the referee allowed to continue. Shishkin was dismissed after the fourth official intervened.
Zenit had their own right back dismissed three minutes after the restart when Alexander Anyukov hacked down Dmitry Tarasov for a second booking.
Lokomotiv thought they had equalized a lot sooner but striker Maxim Grigoriev, recently called into Russia's preliminary squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers, hooked the ball over the line from an offside position.
Second-half substitute Alexander Kerzhakov, who returned to the first team after missing last week's 2-2 draw with Krylya Sovetov over a salary spat, had a last-minute shot turned over the bar.
Brazilian forward Hulk had a quiet game, while Axel Witsel was missing through injury.
Luciano Spalletti left midfield lynchpin Igor Denisov out of the side due to his salary dispute with the club.
Zenit, the reigning champions, now have just one win in their last six games, while Lokomotiv are unbeaten in four.
Later Saturday, Amkar Perm host Spartak Moscow, and Terek Grozny climb back to the top of the league with a win at FC Kuban.
On Sunday, Anzhi Makhachkala hosts FC Volga, and Rubin Kazan travel to David Bentley's FC Rostov.
Krylya Sovetov face Krasnodar on Monday, Mordovia Saransk host Alania Vladikavkaz in a battle of the two newly promoted sides.

Some people are trying to make the reality in Russia at least a bit more humane. The amnesty should apply not only to persons involved in high-profile cases, but also to individuals who are not as well-known. It is better to set free at least some of the individuals who deserve to be released than no one at all.
