MOSCOW, September 21 (RIA Novosti)
Russia's national football team will play the United States in a November 14 friendly match in the southern city of Krasnodar, the Russian FA president told R-Sport on Friday.
The city was chosen due to its favorable climate at that time of the year, Nikolai Tolstykh said. The prospect of the warm welcome from the supporters of local Premier League team FC Kuban also played a role, he said.
Kuban are one of the best-supported teams in the league.
Russia have never lost to the United States in four matches. The Russians have won two - the last 2-0 in Moscow in 2000 - and two have been drawn.
Fabio Capello's side got off to a perfect start in 2014 World Cup qualifying, beating Northern Ireland 2-0 and Israel 4-0 in the first two games.

News that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin would resign in order to run for the mayoral election in September came as quite a shock. Sobyanin’s political potential is fairly dubious, not to mention his approval ratings. He has not finished many of the projects he initiated and the electoral effect from these projects is expected to come a bit later than September 2013. Sobyanin’s opponents were not entirely unprepared for this blitzkrieg.
