Two goals from Yura Movsisyan were not enough to give FC Krasnodar victory away at Amkar Perm on Sunday as the hosts recovered to salvage a 2-2 draw.
Krasnodar go up to eighth in the Russian Premier League as a result, with Amkar ninth and Alania Vladikavkaz dropping two places to tenth.
A defensive calamity led to Movsisyan’s first goal on 20 minutes, as Amkar defender Dmitry Belorukov headed Krasnodar midfielder Vladislav Ignatiev’s cross at his own goalkeeper, who parried the shot for Movsisyan to apply an easy finish.
The Armenian-American striker’s second came five minutes later on the break as he jinked past Belorukov and Ivan Cherenchikov before hitting a low shot past goalkeeper Sergei Narubin.
Nikita Burmistrov pulled one back immediately for Amkar, working his way through a crowd of defenders on the edge of the box before unleashing a fierce drive into the top corner.
Amkar’s equalizer came when Artur Ryabokobylenko picked up a misplaced Krasnodar pass on 37 minutes and struck a powerful shot from 20 yards that went in off the bottom of the post.
Krasnodar’s Alexander Amisulashvili thought he had scored on the hour, but saw his effort disallowed for handball despite furious protests.
