MOSCOW, August 12 (RIA Novosti)
A spectacular late goal from Serbia midfielder Zoran Tosic was enough for CSKA Moscow to scrape a 1-0 win against big-spending Anzhi in the Russian Premier League on Sunday.
The win followed successive 3-1 defeats that had led some to speculate about CSKA coach Leonid Slutsky's future and stretches Anzhi's winless streak away to CSKA to seven games.
Tosic struck on 74 minutes, picking up a pass from the Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda and curling the ball into the bottom-right corner of the net from outside the penalty area.
CSKA and Tosic enjoyed their first opportunity on eight minutes, but Anzhi goalkeeper Vladimir Gabulov saved the Serb's powerful long-range effort.
Former Chelsea wing-back Yuri Zhirkov missed a good chance on 55 minutes, blazing over the bar from close range.
Tosic went one on one with Gabulov six minutes after his goal, taking advantage of a mistake by Anzhi's Brazilian midfielder Jucilei, but Gabulov saved Tosic's shot.
Anzhi midfielder Kamil Agalarov was sent off five minutes from the end when he received his second booking for a deliberate handball.
Earlier on Sunday, stubborn resistance from Mordovia Saransk thwarted the Amkar Perm attack and earned the newly-promoted minnows a point for a goalless draw.
On Saturday, Zenit St. Petersburg hammered in five goals as they demolished 10-man Spartak Moscow to go clear at the top, while Lokomotiv Moscow clung on for a 2-2 draw with Alania Vladikavkaz and Terek Grozny beat FC Volga 2-0.
On Friday, FC Kuban defeated rivals FC Krasnodar 2-1 in a derby clash.
Later Sunday, Rubin Kazan welcome Dynamo Moscow, while Rostov play Krylya Sovetov.

The tragic and sudden loss of so many innocent lives should put a final point to the armed conflict—or it may put the international conflict over Ukraine on a much higher and more dangerous level.
