World champion Lisa Carrington of New Zealand paddled to Olympic canoe sprint gold in the women's kayak single 200 meters event on Saturday.
Carrington burst out of the pack with 50 meters remaining to win gold in a time of 44.638 seconds.
Inna Osypenko-Radomska of Ukraine, who won Beijing gold and London silver in the 500 meters event, took another silver in 45.053.
Hungary's Natasa Douchev-Janics also won her second medal of the Games with bronze in 45.128.
Douchev-Janics claimed silver with partner Katalin Kovacs in the women's kayak double on Thursday.
"It's been really great. You dream about this moment, but I still don't believe it. It hasn't sunken in yet," said Carrington.
"Tonight we'll have a New Zealand kayak dinner. And I'm definitely celebrating with friends and family."
Osypenko-Radomska said she had conquered her pre-race nerves.
"I got off to a very quick start and I was quite calm at the start, but once we got into the swing of it I was just going as fast as I could to win a medal."
Behind her, Douchev-Janics admitted: "I cannot be absolutely happy with this medal."
"It's not my Olympics. I wanted gold. Third? I thought I could catch the second [place]."
