Dynamo Moscow forward Kevin Kuranyi said Tuesday he regrets Sergei Silkin's resignation as coach, despite the club's disastrous start to the Russian Premier League season.

Silkin announced his departure on Monday after Dynamo lost their third-successive game, and may move upstairs to a director position.

"I'm sorry, that Sergei Silkin resigned, because I have learned a lot from him - as a coach and as a person," Kuranyi wrote on his Facebook page.

"So I'd be very happy if he stayed at our club, let it be on a different position. Now we need to look only ahead, to try to throw a bad start out of our head and focus on our strengths."

Dmitri Khokhlov, a former Dynamo, PSV Eindhoven and Real Sociedad player, who worked on the coaching staff under Silkin, was named caretaker manager.

Khokhlov's first game in charge will be a Europa League tie against Dundee United on Thursday, where the score is poised at 2-2 after last week's first leg in Scotland.
