Fabio Capello has chosen former Lazio and Parma sporting director Oreste Cinquini to assist him as Russia coach, an official with the Russian FA told R-Sport on Friday.
Career executive Cinquini, 65, is to play a similar role to that of Franco Baldini during Capello's four-year spell in charge of England, the official said on condition of anonymity.
Baldini took care of technical issues such as scouting and staff management.
Capello, named as "de facto" Russia coach by the Russian Football Union on Thursday, is expected to hire assistant coaches in the coming days.
Capello was in Moscow for talks last week and is due to return Friday for further discussions and to watch the first round of games in the Russian Premier League this weekend, acting union president Nikita Simonyan told R-Sport.
The 66-year-old Italian is to attend the matches with Cinquini, the official said.
