FC Kuban coach Dan Petrescu has vowed to stay with the club despite a reported offer from CSKA Moscow.

The former Chelsea right back earned praise in Russia for taking the Krasnodar club into the Premier League for the first time in 2010, his first season in charge.

He took Kuban into the top eight this year, surpassing all expectations and prompting Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti to call him "the breakthrough of the year."

Some reports in the Russian media claimed the 44-year-old will leave Kuban for a bigger club, and that three-time Russian champion CSKA had made a bid after failing to secure a Champions League spot under Leonid Slutsky.

However, Petrescu insisted he is planning to start next season with Kuban after singing an extension until 2015 in November.

"The information that CSKA are interested in me means I'm doing something right," Petrescu said late Sunday. "But I want to emphasize that I have a contract for three years more and all my plans are with Kuban."

Kuban rounded off the season in typically spirited fashion with a 1-1 draw with Dynamo Moscow, only failing to win after an injury-time strike from Zvjezdan Misimovic.

"We played well, but had few victories, only draws," he said after the team's sixth-consecutive draw.

"Maybe it is due to the lack of class and experience of the players. It's even hard to comment on it when you were ahead all game and conceded a goal in the 93rd minute."

Kuban's 21year-old Ivorian striker Lacina Traore, who scored a 10th-minute opener against Dynamo, was the league's third-top scorer with 18 goals in 38 games.

He has also been linked with a move away from Kuban.
