The Russian national football team has moved up one place to 11th in the world rankings, overtaking Italy, the latest rankings published by FIFA showed Wednesday.
The Italians lost to USA on February 1-0 in Genoa, dropping the Azzurri from ninth to 12th.
The other significant movers are the World Cup finalists the Netherlands, who fall from second to fifth, and Germany, who move up to second as a result.
Uruguary rounds off the top three, headed as before by Spain, while Portugal jump two places to fifth.
