MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) – Everyone who threatens Russia will be destroyed, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said Wednesday after the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group released a video containing a threat to start a war in Russia’s Chechen Republic and the whole Caucasus region.

“Taking all responsibility, I declare that those who have voiced a threat against Russia or who have mentioned the name of our president Vladimir Putin will be destroyed right where they made their statement. We will not wait for them to get behind the steering wheel of a plane. They will go where his fellow terrorists are rotting,” Kadyrov wrote on his Instagram page.

The Chechen leader said militants in Iraq and Syria are trained and armed by the United States and the West with the aim of destroying strong and resource-rich Islamic countries.

The ISIS insurgent group, previously known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS or ISIL), has been fighting the Syrian government since 2012, acquiring a notorious reputation for its brutality.

In 2014, the organization launched an offensive on Iraq, capturing vast areas in the north of the country, including major cities and oilfields.

In late June, the ISIS proclaimed an Islamic caliphate on the territories under its control.
