MOSCOW, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine must refrain from irresponsible actions that are threatening the safety of civil aviation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
Ukraine's border control continues to prohibit crewmembers aboard planes of Russian flag carrier Aeroflot from disembarking following the arrival of their flights into the country, thereby violating their right to stay and rest in the country.
"Such actions are not in line with the provisions of international agreements that prescribe the conditions for the safe conduct of international civilian aviation," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that it had informed the Ukrainian embassy in Moscow about the issue on Tuesday, following the refusal by Ukrainian border officers to allow Aeroflot crew to leave a plane on Monday.
A similar notice had already been sent earlier this month, the ministry said.
Flights of Russian airlines that pass over Ukraine were diverted earlier this month to follow routes that bypass the country. Experts in the aviation industry speculated the move was based on a recommendation by Russian aviation authorities, possibly due to safety concerns.
