MOSCOW, July 21 (RIA Novosti) – Head of the Russian Orthodox Church warned Western governments on Sunday against legalization of same-sex marriages what he called a sign of approaching end of the world.
Patriarch Kirill said during a service at Moscow’s major cathedral that the recent initiatives in a range of countries to legalize same-sex marriages “is a dangerous and apocalyptic symptom” that should not spread over to Russia, according to Russian media reports.
While those who “fight the laws imposed by the minority are subject to repressions,” Kirill, who leads the Church known for its conservative views, was quoted as saying during his speech at Kazan Cathedral near Red Square on Sunday.
Russian authorities have been repeatedly criticized by human rights groups and Western officials over a recently passed law introducing punishment for “the promotion of nontraditional sexual relationships” among minors.

- volantisMorality in the World17:18, 22/07/2013The Russian Patriarch is correct in warning of the danger from immoral behaviors such as same sex marriages. Morality is those actions and behaviors that lead to the good health and well-being of individuals and communities. When we start promoting and rewarding behaviors that spread disease and suffering we are putting human kind on track for a serious population adjustment. The fear arising from mass health-related deaths further deteriorates into wars and needless suffering.
- gdpettiApocalypse21:22, 22/07/2013Perhaps Mr. K hasn't been informed that this 'apocalypse' is a regular cyclical feature of our planet as it moves through the s/t continuum. Like it or not, here it comes, with the main convergence set for next year. Look in the geologic record for a trigger event every ~28 million years(our companion star a brown dwarf), or the more common trigger event every 3600 years (comet cluster, this time newly refurbished thanks to that dark star) as well as the effect of all the other cyclical events set to collapse the 'wave' next year and cleanse the planet of all the misfit energies being expressed these days. Blaming some homosexuals for this is typical of most religions everytime it happens, so I'm not surprised to hear the same BS again. The history books are full of it, those books that survive the flames, the natural type or the man-made type used to help people forget the truth.
Remember that word, Truth? It shall set you free, yes indeed, but only if you seek it, find it and implement it into your life. Otherwise, "Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride."
- andreerasmusLegalization of LGBT practices15:03, 23/07/2013I agree quite whole heartedly with the Patriarch Kirill, and am very happy with the Biblical stand that the Russian Leadership has taken on homosexuality. I wish many more other countries saw things this way. All the Biblical events of the past are true and have happened. Western democracies have turned their back on the Bible and will pay for their mistakes in the times to come.

Any anti-ISIL operation in Iraq cannot be effective unless the Islamic State is attacked in Syria. But the final statement of the Paris Conference did not mention Syria as a precaution against disunity in the coalition and with due regard for the Russian position.
