KRASNOYARSK, July 17 (RIA Novosti) – Police in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk have confiscated live ammunition from a woman who was storing military projectiles in her garden, a local Interior Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday.
The police were informed Wednesday morning that military munitions were being stored in the garden of a summer house in the city’s Sverdlovsk district, spokesman Vladimir Yurchenko said.
“The police who arrived at the scene found six military projectiles near a rural house. It emerged that the woman who owns the plot of land had unearthed munitions over the years while working in her vegetable garden, and was storing them near her shed,” Yurchenko said.
Alarmed neighbors informed the police when they noticed the impromptu munitions dump, the spokesman said.
“The plots of land are located close to a former firing range where munitions were previously disposed of,” he said.
The arsenal was taken away for disposal by sappers, he said.

Ukraine has not preserved its 1991 borders. The signing of the Geneva memorandum on April 17 reaffirmed the willingness of Russia, the United States and EU countries to reach a compromise. While the sides continue to trade tough talk and symbolic sanctions, the Kremlin and the White House are also holding a parallel dialogue on the coordinated geopolitical revision of Eastern Europe.
