A chance still remains for national reconciliation in the conflict in Syria, despite the large number of opponents of that process including those outside the country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"There are not a few opponents of that process toward national reconciliation," Lavrov said after a meeting with Syrian representatives in Moscow. "So the chances are far from a hundred percent, but they do exist," he added.
In order to get concrete results, it is vital that those to whom the fate of the Syrian people was irrelevant should face their responsibilities, he said.
"We'll do everything we can to that end," he added.
The amount of humanitarian aid getting into Syria, where armed conflict has been raging for over a year, is not sufficient, Lavrov also said.
"Until now, unfortunately, humanitarian aid has got in to those Syrians located on the borders, and not enough has got to those inside the country," he said.
It is important that all Syrians get access to aid including those inside the country, he added.
