Four suspected Chechen militants were arrested at Moscow's Kievsky railroad terminal on Wednesday, Chechen police said.
Police acted on a tip off that the four suspects - three men and a woman - were planning a terrorist attack. The source said the female suspect is thought to be a suicide bomber.
Chechnya's interior minister has not confirmed the report.
President Dmitry Medvedev visited the railroad terminal to inspect transport security last week.
Security has been stepped up across Russia after a deadly bomb attack last month on Moscow's Domodedovo airport that killed 36 people.
