MOSCOW, October 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Kremlin will allocate 1 million rubles ($32,850) to each of the families of those killed in Tuesday's terrorist attack on the Chechen parliament and Saturday's flash floods in Russia's south, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.
"In the past few days, we have borne witness to two events that have caused the loss of human life... I have signed two governmental decrees on the allocation of money to the families of those that were killed," Putin told Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov.
Islamist rebels killed six on Tuesday in a suicide attack in Grozny, the capital of Russia's volatile North Caucasus republic of Chechnya, while the flash floods in Russia's southern Krasnodar Territory on Saturday killed at least 14.

- firstname.lastname@example.orgAlways impressed by the Russian government22:07, 19/10/2010When disasters or misfortune strikes the Russian people the Russian government is very fast to respond with immediate aid.
I have noticed this again and again beginning with the wild fires this summer and now with the floods and attack on parliament.
As an outsider looking in it makes me really appreciate the concern the Russian government has for its people when disaster or unfortunate circumstances strike.
It is one of the reasons that I really like to promote Russia for tourism and business.

For Russia, Crimea is more than just a territory. It is not for land that Russia is putting all her prestige at stake. This situation is about wounded national pride, history, identity, national phobias, a new Russian nationalism, past relations with the “West” full of real and perceived injuries, and Western hypocrisy.
