Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will arrive in Germany for a two-day visit on Friday to discuss international issues with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"Medvedev and Merkel will discuss practical issues of the agenda of the upcoming G8 and G20 summits, which will be held in Canada on June 25-27," a Kremlin source said.
He said the two sides would also discuss international issues, including nuclear disarmament and arms control, as well as Iran's nuclear program and peace efforts in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Medvedev said earlier his visit would also address bilateral cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres.
The two sides will also discuss ties between Russia and the European Union following this week's summit in southern Russia where the two sides made progress on their Partnership for Modernization.
Russian-German ties have strengthened in the last few years as Russia looks to expand cooperation with individual EU states alongside with Russian-EU relations.
