The training sessions involve the crews of five Mil Mi-8 Hip helicopters.

Col. Vladimir Drik, the Defense Ministry’s Air Force spokesperson, noted that from May 3, the group will train in the skies over Moscow and that will operate from the Tushino Airfield.
Five Mil Mi-8MTV helicopters from the Torzhok Center for Combat Training and Retraining of Army Aviation Pilots in the Tver Region will fly in formation during the parade.
The helicopters will fly 50 meters from each other.
The helicopters will carry the Russian state flag, the Defense Ministry flag, as well as the Army, Navy and Air Force flags. To keep the flags stretched, 1,800-kilogram weights will be tied to their 15-meter ropes.
Col.-Gen. Valery Gerasimov, Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ General Staff, told journalists earlier that the May 9 Victory Day Parade in Moscow would involve about 100 pieces of military equipment, including five helicopters, and more than 14,000 officers and soldiers.
