“Neither the leaders of the opposition movements nor human rights activists were detained by police when the rally was dispersed. Limonov, Alexeyeva, Ponomaryov who were on Triumfalnaya Square left themselves,” a spokesman for the police information department said. A deputy head of the Moscow police information department, Janna Ozhimina, told RIA Novosti on Monday the “march of dissent was a provocation, which was witnessed not only by participants of a sanctioned rally but almost 200 journalists, human rights activists and passers-by.”
Police detained 152 people and drew up 150 protocols on administrative offences.
