On April 22, 2010 the sixth Russian national St. George Ribbon campaign was launched. The black and orange ribbons have come to symbolize the memory of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and gratitude for the war veterans, who liberated the world from the Nazism.

To mark the campaign’s beginning commanders of the Russian heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky gave out the ribbons to the seamen, petty officers, midshipmen and officers.
