MOSCOW, July 31 (RIA Novosti) - Fatima Dyczynski, 25, was among the passengers of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 that crashed near the city of Donetsk on July 17.

A future astronaut and aerospace engineer, the businesswoman and beautiful girl was an only daughter. Her parents refused to believe that she died in the crash and kept on searching for Fatima, hoping that she managed to escape death.

BELIEVING IN A MIRACLE

A middle-aged, broken-hearted couple is walking through the field near Grabovo village, now believed cursed, where the fragments of flight MH17 are located.

They are searching through the plane's wreckage, even lifting some pieces up, not afraid to be criticized for interfering with the investigation. They want to see their daughter, or at least to find her belongings. But in reality, they do not know what they are looking for.

A man named Jerzy Dyczynski cannot muster up any words at all. Whenever rescuers or reporters approach him, he simply closes his eyes. But the inscription on his T-shirt, “Fatima! We love you!" speaks for itself.

Beside him, a woman, Angela Rudhart Dyczynski speaks with those crowding around them. Fatima’s mother explains to everyone that she needs no condolences; she needs their support.

The Dyczynski couple shocked everyone in Amsterdam with their determination to go to eastern Ukraine, which is in the state of civil war. They were dissuaded and warned they could be kidnapped, but the family was uncompromising in their resoluteness.

Dyczynski is a cardiologist and he believes that his daughter could have survived if her seat protected her from the impact of hitting the ground. He is explaining to reporters his theory, arguing that his daughter’s brain would have frozen at the height of 10,000 kilometers (33,000 feet), which could have saved her life after the plane exploded.

Fatima’s parents stayed in Holland for just a couple of hours in order to pass their DNA samples to authorities.

Fatima’s body is still not found. Many other passengers have also not been identified. Relatives of others are patiently waiting for the bad news, but Fatima’s parents keep on believing in a miracle.

INTERRUPTED FLIGHT

This should not be happening. An Australian couple has lost their only young and talented daughter. Fatima has just finished four-year-long course on aerospace engineering and aircraft construction at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. After she received her degree, she went to visit her parents in Australia. There were prospects of a happy life ahead of Fatima.

Back in the city of Perth, Australia, Fatima’s parents also had good news for her. They bought her a gift: a new BMW was waiting for her in the garage.

Fatima just started her internship at IBM, and planned to continue working on her own project called Xottera Space.

The project's presentation can easily be found on YouTube. The tall and beautiful blonde Fatima is speaking about the near future, when everyone will have personal satellites customized to their particular needs.

At the moment, Xottera Space’s website greets its visitors with a note: “Fatima was energetic, full of life and her dreams reached to the outermost of space. She was brightly outspoken, ambitious and incredibly motivated. Many people were inspired by her dreams to make space personal and her passion for innovation and business. Our deepest condolences go to her parents, family and dear friends.”

There are a lot of comments below a video with Fatima’s presentation. The majority is from people who have never met her in real life.

“This is so sad. I have not been able to stop watching your TED talks speech. I am mesmerized by your passion and enthusiasm. This is such a waste of life. Whilst it seems ironic that if it wasn’t for your passing I may not have ever known about you… you were a shining star that was extinguished too soon,” one of the comments said.

On her Facebook page, just days before she flew on MH17, Fatima wrote of her passion for life and her future.

“Infinite potential. For this Earth, Galaxy and beyond. Always remember: don't let gravity hold us back,” she wrote on July 8.

Just a few days later, gravity did not hold her back any more.

LITTLE HOPE

So why are Fatima’s parents still denying the obvious? Nobody survived the Boeing crash. In case she was late for the flight, she would definitely have let her parents know by now.

Fatima’s parents’ arguments are weak. When they heard the horrible news, they called Fatima straight away, hearing it ring, they said.

When this RIA Novosti reporter was at the field just hours after the crash, he also heard the phone ring.

But the main argument of the Dyczynski family is that Fatima’s body has still not been found. However, many bodies have not been identified, as the deceased could not be transported to the morgue for more than a week after the crash.

Sixteen bodies have not been found, so it could be that Fatima is among them.

The fuselage of a plane still lies languid on the field – it was left there until the arrival of Australian and Dutch investigators. But they have been unable to reach the crash site as the Ukrainian military continues its armed operations in the nearby area.

Plane fragments are spread all over an area of 20 square miles. The cockpit is near Rassipnoye village, part of the fuselage – near Petropalovka.

There is a forest and a small river nearby, so the search operation should be led by a team of equipped professionals. At the moment the search operation is on hold – the crash site is not secure. The team of international experts who arrived in Donetsk spends their time in a hotel, fearing recurrent bombings.

Since the military operation intensified in Donetsk, Dutch authorities advised Anzela and Jerzy to leave the place. Now they are in Kiev, thinking about what to do next and trying to reach anyone who might be able to help them.

When this article was already written, this reporter received an email from Fatima’s parents. Fatima’s pictures were attached to the letter, together with the note that thanked us and requested for any information if Fatima is found … alive.
