ALMATY, September 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will host massive counter-terrorism drills from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member nations in 2015, the head of the organization’s Anti-Terrorism Center Andrei Novikov told the press Wednesday.
“Next year, counter-terrorism drills will be held in Russia,” the official said.
Novikov added that the plot that the exercises will be centred around has not been developed yet, but noted that “Every year we practice different case scenarios during drills.”
Novikov’s statement was made after the “Zhetysu-Antiterror 2014” counter-terrorist drills between the CIS member countries’ security services came to an end on Tuesday in Kazakhstan. Units from nine CIS nations and observers from the United Nations Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee, Interpol, Organization for Security and Co-operation and a number of other international organizations have taken part in the drills.
