Over 500,000 euros (some $614,000) were stolen from a bank on the small Greek island of Spetses on Monday, local Skai television channel reported.

Three men and a woman entered a local branch of Alpha Bank and threatening with guns took all cash that was just brought to the bank. They then fled the crime scene on motorbikes.

Policemen and coast guards failed to catch the suspected robbers immediately and are still looking for them.

This is an unprecedented bank robbery for the island of Spetses, known for its historical and architectural hermitage. Automobile transportation is not allowed on the island due to its small territory.
