Russia's top bank, Sberbank, saw its 2011 net profit soar 74 percent year-on-year to 315.9 billion rubles ($10.9 billion) to IFRS, the lender said on Wednesday.

Russia's top bank, Sberbank, saw its 2011 net profit soar 74 percent year-on-year to 315.9 billion rubles ($10.9 billion) to IFRS, the lender said on Wednesday.

The bank's net profit in the fourth quarter of 2011 fell 16.5 percent to 60.1 billion rubles ($2.073 billion).

Operating income for the whole last year was up 50 percent to 744.0 billion rubles, while net interest income increased 17.1 percent to 561.0 billion rubles, the bank said in a statement.

Pre-tax profit for 2011 rose 72 percent year on year to 395.7 billion rubles.
