Russian gas giant Gazprom and Danish firm Dong Energy may build a new combined heat and power plant in Western Europe, Gazprom said on Sunday.
"Electricity power industry is one of priority areas of our business in Europe," the Russian company quoted its CEO Alexei Miller in a statement as saying. "Gazprom is interested in participation not only in current electricity power projects but also in construction of new modern electricity power stations working on natural gas together with European leading energy companies," Miller added.
Dong Energy produces oil and gas in Norway and Denmark, provides geological prospecting in Greenland and the Faroe Islands and operates gas power stations in the U.K., Norway and the Netherlands. The Danish company is also one of leaders in renewable resources industry.
