Natural gas output in Russia's Sakhalin region will rise 160 percent to 62.93 billion cubic meters by 2020, while annual oil and condensate output will grow 60 percent to 24.8 million tons, the region's natural resources and environmental protection minister said on Tuesday.

"We'll continue developing Sakhalin-3 and Sakhalin-5 projects in 2015-2020 and expect oil and gas production to reach 24 million tons and 62 billion cubic meters respectively by 2010," Nikolai Ushakov said at a meeting of the Natural Resources Committee of the Federation Council upper house of parliament.

He said expected output of oil and gas condensate in 2010 totaled about 15.179 million tons, while expected gas output amounted to 24.522 bcm. He said the volumes would be reached thanks to the Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects.
