A Moscow district court authorized on Tuesday the arrest of a deputy head of the Moscow branch of Russia's Investigative Committee, Denis Nikandrov, suspected of bribery, until September 15.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Lefortovo court previously authorized until September 15 the arrest of two other suspects in the same bribery case — the head of Investigative Committee's internal security department, Mikhail Maksimenko, and his deputy, Alexander Lamonov.

"The court ruled to authorize the arrest of the suspect [Nikandrov] until September 15," presiding judge Yelena Galikhanova announced following closed hearings.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said earlier on Tuesday that it was conducting an investigation of several high-ranking officials of the country’s Investigative Committee suspected of the abuse of power and accepting bribes from criminals.
