Ural Yekaterinburg held on to clinch a 1-1 draw against Krylya Sovetov Samara in the Russian Premier League on Saturday despite coming under heavy pressure late in the game.

MOSCOW, September 21 (R-Sport) - Ural Yekaterinburg held on to clinch a 1-1 draw against Krylya Sovetov Samara in the Russian Premier League on Saturday despite coming under heavy pressure late in the game.

Newly promoted Ural stay 13th in the table, while Krylya remain 11th following their sixth draw in seven games.

"There were good moves, we just couldn’t use them," Krylya coach Andrei Tsygankov said in televised comments.

Spartak Gogniev opened the scoring for Ural on 11 minutes, but not without the help of the Krylya players, six of whom chased the ball leaving Gogniev in acres of space to receive the ball and stroke it into the net.

Krylya’s reply came seven minutes later through Alexander Amisulashvili when the Ural defense proved unable to clear a cross from 39-year-old veteran Ruslan Adzhindzhal.

Late in the game, Krylya repeatedly created good chances but wayward finishing let them down. One gilt-edged opportunity went begging when a cross from Ibragim Tsallagov flew across the face of goal on 82 minutes. The slightest of touches would have sent it in, but two Krylya players missed it.

In stoppage time, Ural appealed for a penalty, but none was given.

Earlier, the weekend’s first of two Moscow derbies saw Lokomotiv beat Dynamo 3-1 amid refereeing controversy.

Later Saturday, FC Krasnodar visit Terek Grozny.

Sunday sees the weekend’s other derby as Spartak and CSKA clash, as well as Anzhi Makhachkala’s trip to FC Volga, Rubin Kazan’s meeting with FC Tomsk, FC Kuban hosting Amkar Perm and Zenit St. Petersburg heading south to play FC Rostov.
