MOSCOW, October 7 (RIA Novosti) - Czech President Vaclav Klaus will visit Russia on October 14 for talks with his Russian counterpart focusing on energy and trade, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.
The Czech Republic, formerly part of the Eastern Bloc and now an EU and NATO member, has stepped up economic ties with Russia in recent years, with a focus on energy contracts. Russia supplies 75% of the Central European country's natural gas and about 70% of oil.
The visit will take place at President Dmitry Medvedev's invitation, the Kremlin said.
