MOSCOW, March 6 (RIA Novosti) - Sixteen partygoers celebrating the birthday of five-year-old twins died overnight after their boat capsized in a lake near the Albanian capital of Tirana, police said on Thursday.
The boat, carrying 20 people, sank shortly after midnight on Lake Farka, about five kilometers (3 miles) east of the city. Police said the boat capsized because it was seriously overloaded. It is thought that the vessel possessed a maximum load capacity of seven people.
Shortly after the incident, a total of 16 bodies, including the twin boys, were recovered. Four people managed to survive.
The boat's passengers had been celebrating the twins' birthday in a nearby restaurant. The restaurant owner was also among the dead.
