GROZNY, January 15 (RIA Novosti) - Two arms caches have been found in the Republic of Chechnya in Russia's North Caucasus in the past 24 hours, the local law-enforcement authorities said Sunday.
Police found the first cache at a cemetery in the village of Samashki in the Achkhoi-Martan district of Chechnya using information disclosed by a militant arrested in the area. The cache contained a machine-gun, a grenade launcher, an automatic rifle and ammunition.
The other cache was discovered in the Leninsky district of Grozny. It contained a grenade launcher, 11 grenades, three fuses, two smoke barrels and ammunition.
