MOSCOW, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russian energy giant Gazprom reported Friday its 1H05 figures in a consolidated interim non-audited report Friday.

Gazprom's net profit stood at $5.4 billion in the first half of 2005, a 69% increase year-on-year, and pre-tax profit was $7.4 billion (+61%).

Net sales increased by 30% to $21.3 billion, with net sales of natural gas up 31% to $17.3 billion.

Net sales of natural gas to Europe increased 33% to $10 billion, primarily due to higher average prices and a 3% increase in supplies.

Net sales of natural gas to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) increased 54%, totaling $1.6 billion, and net sales of natural gas on the domestic market increased 22%, reaching $5.7 billion.

Gazprom's debt decreased by 7% in the same period from $17.4 billion to $16.2 billion, mainly due to increased cash inflow from core operations, the company said.
