TALLINN, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip said Thursday that his country would not seek compensation for alleged damages incurred when it was part of the Soviet Union.

"I cannot speak for the future, but we have no claims today," he said. "No people, no country can live in the past. We should move on quickly rather than lay claims."

However, he cautioned about completely forgetting the past.

"We should not forget the bad to prevent it from happening again," he said.

"We do not want Russia to apologize, because apologies should be sincere, and if not, then its better not to apologize at all," Ansip said.
