MOSCOW, October 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian soccer team must do its utmost in the remaining 2006 World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Slovakia, the team's coach said Tuesday. Yury Syomin said: "There has been and will be many important matches in my and my players' careers, but these [remaining qualifiers] will be the most important."

Russia has to beat both Luxembourg and Slovakia, who are in spot above Russia in the Group 3, to stand any chance of making it to Germany in 2006.

CSKA Moscow midfielder Yevgeny Aldonin said Slovakian team is physically strong and skillful. "The most dangerous weapon of the Slovaks is the set pieces," he said.

CSKA Moscow captain Sergei Ignashevich said the team would do everything possible to score as many goals as possible in the game against Luxembourg. "We must play a good team game and not individually to get a result," he said.

Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Dmitry Loskov said in turn that the most important thing was to win in the match with Luxembourg no matter what the final score might be.

The Russian team will play Luxembourg on October 8 in Moscow and then will face Slovakia on October 12 in Bratislava.
