TSKHINVALI/TBILISI, July 31 (RIA Novosti) - Abkhazia (self-proclaimed republic in Georgia) has withdrawn from the negotiations with Georgia, Georgian Minister for Separatist Conflicts Georgy Khaindrava said.

"The special representative of the Georgian Secretary General, currently in Sukhumi, has just told me that Abkhazia withdraws from the negotiations with Georgia," he reported.

Prime Minister of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba already made this statement to journalists.

Georgy Khaindrava is participating in the session of the mixed monitoring commission for the Georgian-South Ossetian settlement in Tskhinvali, South Ossetian capital.

Abkhazia's withdrawal from the negotiations is explained by the election campaign, Mr. Khaindrava noted. "This statement is not serious as they should understand the consequences of this withdrawal," he stressed.

"One should think it over before making such statements," the minister added.

Meanwhile, Georgy Khaindrava told journalists that Abkhazia's decision would not influence the negotiations with South Ossetia.

"However, everything is interrelated. Naturally, we shall respond in a relevant way," he said.

On his part, Georgian Deputy Minister for Separatist Conflicts Georgy Volsky told a RIA Novosti correspondent in Tbilisi that the Georgian side would issue a special statement on Abkhazia's decision.

"We shall consider Abkhazia's statement and its arguments and make an official statement on behalf of the Georgian leadership," Mr. Volsky said.
